Save or Splurge?

This morning I woke up after several bizarre dreams. In one of them, my friend told me she had lost my Sabre Runway sunglasses in the sea and was trying to swim to the end of the ocean to retrieve them because she knew how much I loved them...

I woke up in a little bit of a panic. I don't know about you but I'm one of those people who have a serious OCD about material things that they own, especially expensive things. Even if I don't use these things very much, I need to know that they're nearby and in good condition should I need them. And if they're not nearby, I go into a little bit of a frenzy imagining how much I could have used said items if I had them around me (which is usually an overexaggeration and more often than not, a lie).

Anyway, I digress. My point is that since I am quite aware that I have to take really, really good care of expensive things, sometimes I opt to buy cheaper versions of those things just because I am a clumsy person and am forever losing or breaking things. At least I can own it, embrace it, say it loud and proud, and do something about it! I seek solace in that!

So on the theme of spending (and splurging) wisely, I logged into my Secret Sales account and got cracking on designer things I currently need (but mostly want) in my life.

If you haven't already guessed it, Secret Sales is an online designer outlet store specialising in exclusive sales on fashion, beauty, and homeware items that are only available for a limited time only. Kind of like a designer sample sale without the sweat, blood, tears, or need for physical violence to get that last pair of Prada heels in a size 5. It's also a way to learn about new designers and key trends.

This process is essentially a dignified way to shop online.. at home.. in your finest pyjama's, with a cup of tea as your side-kick.

I paint a pretty picture, don't I?

Anyway, here's a list of things I currently covet from the website. As my boyfriend is currently hogging the TV since the Premier League started today, (I know most women in England right now know how I feel), we've made a deal that he can watch as long as he wants, as long as he buys me a present by the end of the day. Everybody wins!
